With the exhibition Textile Area, the Skulpturenmuseum Marl brings together three striking positions in contemporary art that re-examine the limits of textiles as a material in the artistic exhibition context. Omnipresent utility and industrial fabrics stretch out in semi-transparent forms in space, form bodies and volume and become stubborn, hard and almost indeformable material. The works of Paulina Hoffmann, Stefan Roigk and Anna Virnich allow textiles to be experienced in a different way and negotiate new limits and possibilities of the material in contemporary art.
